First up for our ones to watch next season is flying wing back Kyle Walker. After signing for Spurs back in 2009, Walker was loaned back to Sheffield United for the first part of the season, some eye catching performances and with an injury to Corluka, Harry decided to call the youngster back to The Lane. Walker would go on and make a couple of appearances during the remainder of that season. @ the start of last season Walker found himself out on loan again, this time with Championship hopefuls QPR. Again the young English man impressed and was given another taste of top flight football just after christmas with Villa taking over the loan for the remainder of the season.
His pace and vision had the Villa fans & football fans up and down the country take note. A stunning 30 yarder against Fulham one of the many scrap book memories from the 2010/2011 season.
A call up to the full England squad followed, although up until now Walker is still awaiting his first cap.
A trip away with the Under 21's during the summer, Kyle was a bright light in what was a shocking tournament for the young hopefuls. His skill, vision & pace during the opening game against Spain left the Spanish doubling up on him..... He still managed to set up the equalizer in the dying seconds. Although we went out in the group stages, Walker was named in the team of the tournament.
So what will the 2011/12 season hold for this future England defender? With Harry reluctant to loan Walker back to Villa, one can only imagine he has a big part to play for Spurs. With Euro 2012 next summer who would bet against him starting the first match of the group stages?
Watch out Glen Johnson this man is on fire!
