It's the Midweeker!

What a weekend! Our local team Stevenage have shot up another division after a fantastic play off final win against Torquay @ Old Trafford! Chris Day putting in another solid performance! Could they make it 3 promotions on the trot come this time next season?

Some of the United players must of wished they stayed in Manchester! As The Red Devils didn't really turn up @ Wembley. A fantastic performance from The Catalan Giants saw United lose 3-1 on the night. Messi, Villa & co made United look average @ best! What next for Sir Alex & Giggs?

So with the domestic season almost over, who from Reading or Swansea will be playing Premier League football next season? The play off final taking place tomorrow, lets hope it's a cracker!

The midweekers back with his predictions for the week ahead, featuring the likes of Swansea & Reading along with the international matches involving France, Italy, Germany & 'Modric's' Croatia.

Will the little man still be @ The Lane next season, or will he be joining Cesc Fabregas @ The Nou Camp? With two of the most skillful players departing from both North London giants who or what will Arsene & Harry bring in to replace their little magicians?

Talk about London calling, and down the road @ The Bridge it's tipped that Guus Hiddink will make a shock return with in the next few weeks! But will Drogba be swapping the Blue of Chelsea for the Sky Blue of Man City?

One things for sure if it's to do with 'FOOTBALL' we will have it covered

The Midweeker!

What a weekend of football! In the lower leagues Stevenage managed to grab a place in the playoffs after only their first season in the league! Barnet left it late to pull off the great escape! Cult hero & former striker grazioli managed to guide The Bees to safety.

In the top flight the North London teams failed to capitalise on Chelsea & Man City's downfalls. Spurs being held to a draw @ The Lane again this season! Will a striker be top of Harrys list during the summer? Meanwhile the red side of North London got beat away @ Stoke. Will Wenger finally splash the cash during the transfer window?

United moved closer to another title, we're looking forward to the day Sir Alex retires. 12 League titles and the United boss doesn't look like calling it a day any time soon. Chelsea will have to wait until next season now to claim another league win. After a miserable middle part to the season Chelsea have @ least salvaged some pride. Will the likes of the aging Lampard, Terry, Drogba & Cole be sold during the summer break to make way for fresh younger talent?

West Ham look dead and buried @ the foot of the table, It's gonna be hard for them to get out of this mess after failing to make home advantage count against fellow strugglers Blackburn.

So with Fulham & Liverpool kicking off the midweek action the midweeker gives us his predictions for the week ahead.

Lets hope he does better than last week!

Cult heroes

A cult hero during his time as a player @ Underhill! Brought in as manager to save the club from going out of the football league! Talk about a great escape!

Get your kits out........

We've reached that time of the season where as far as the honours go we're just crossing the "T"'s and dotting the lower case "J"'s, we also have a rough idea as to who will be facing the drop.
But as reliable as Season Ticket renewal packs landing with a soft thud through the letterbox asking  to be renewed right NOW!! another thing that is as sure as night follows day this time of year is the leaked & official images of next season's kit!
Now merchandising is big business for football clubs and players alike with fans of all ages queuing around the block from midnight to get their hands on the official gear. Gone are the days where clubs would keep the same kit for more than two seasons, with new sponsors and manufacturers an ideal excuse to bring out a new slightly different variety of strip.
It's no wonder then that retro shirts have become more and more popular, at websites such as ebay or www.classicfootballshirts.co.uk you can get your hands on genuine old skool tops for sometimes well over a hundred pounds! You can also of course get replica old style football tops that even your team will sell in the club shop, I guess they have to cover all bases!
There's even greater debate when a supposed new top gets posted up on a website or message board, for example is
          this                                              or                                  this

the new Spurs top and for that matter should we really care!?

Using Spurs as an example again it was fifty years ago this weekend that they achieved the League & FA Cup Double, they were regarded by many at the time as one of the greatest passing and attacking teams around, now did the loyal fans who turned up every Saturday really stand there on the terrace and moan "They're alright but not sure about those two lines at the bottom of the top!"??

It's the Midweeker!

"Goal-line technology?" It's frowned upon screams our man in the know! A cheeky cup of tea followed by the odd raspberry jam scone The Midweeker has finally got down to doing some work! After a weekend full to the brim of football madness, from offsides to goal line technology and the gale force winds witnessed @ The City of Manchester Stadium its been one unforgettable weekend! Chelsea have closed the gap on United, what a difference a few weeks have made in the life of The Top flight! Spurs have gone from looking good in 4th to treading water in 6th. What price would Harry give for 12 points from the last 4 games?

With only a few weeks left of the current season the transfer rumours are reaching us thick & fast. From the likes of Liverpool, City & Spurs it's out with the old & in with the new. King Kenny is ready to show the exit to the likes of Joe Cole, Glen Johnson, Daniel Agger & Christan Poulsen. While @ City the likes of Shay Given, Micah Richards, Wayne Bridge, Jo, SWP & Adebayor have been told their days are numbered. As City look to cut their wage bill ahead of FIFA's new ruling!

While @ Spurs Gomes will have to put in some show stopping performances in the last 4 games of the season to convince Harry to stick with him next season. Bentley, Jenas, O'Hara, Defoe, Bassong, Hutton & Corluka will be sold to make funds available.
While Club captain King will only be offered a pay as you play deal @ The Lane.

Meanwhile in Madrid, Real want Wenger to replace the controversial Mourinho!
