The It's a Football Thing Team of The Season 2010/11

Awhile ago on our Facebook page we opened up the voting to you, yes you! the viewing public to decide the Four Four Two It's a Football Thing's Team of the Season.
We decided on this course after our team of the year caused a certain amount of controversy and debate on the page for those we had and had not included. This also gave us a break from the "office debate" as to who should be in the team, when I say office debate I mean shouting, throwing of tea mugs and general sulking by The Midweeker after he was told he couldn't choose any players from 1971 in this season's team.....
After the votes were counted, then recounted and recounted again after we lost count we can now reveal the team of the season as voted by you lot.
As aways if you didn't vote then please don't moan, just make sure you do next time! and although by the looks of things we probably have more fans from one particular North London team than anywhere else, I think our team stands up well with that of the PFA.
The It's a Football Thing Team of the Season 2010/11
(L to R) Back row; Michael Dawson (Spurs) Luis Suarez (L'Pool) Edwin Van Der Saar (Man Utd) Leighton Baines (Everton) Luka Modric (Spurs)
Front Row;  Gareth Bale (Spurs) Benoit Assou-Ekotto (Spurs) Rafael van der Vaart (Spurs) Nani (Man Utd) Nemanja Vidic (Man Utd) Javier Hernández (Man Utd)
As far as goal of the season goes, it was quite a close run thing, particular favourites of yours included Cheik Tiote's equaliser for Newcastle against Arsenal and Wayne Rooney's overhead kick for Manchester United in the Derby game against City. But the out and out winner was Gareth Bale's majestic volley for Spurs away to Stoke City.
Don't forget to keep checking our Facebook page or follow us on Twitter for all the action next season and this time next year we'll have the team of the season as voted by you yet again. But who will be in it, we'll just have to wait and see.
